KAMBO… WHAT IS IT & WHAT IS IT NOT?

Kambo is a sacred indigenous medicine that comes secretion from the giant monkey frog — it has many other names — giant leaf frog, or waxy-monkey treefrog, is a species of leaf frog in various parts of South America.

This secretion, called Kambo is known as the “Vaccine of the Forest” due to it’s natural antibiotic, anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties.

The secretion is made up of bioactive peptides and neuropeptides.

Many pharmaceutical companies work to isolate, study, and synthetically replicate in western medicine.

Known benefits of these include –

– Improved immune function, Pain management. Potent antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeast (including Candida), fungi, and enveloped viruses, Sedation/Relaxation, Reduction in blood pressure.

Now, some people refer to it as frog poison due to the physical response, but there’s a reason I have the word poison in quotes…. And that’s because it’s FAR from being a poison… when Kambo is administered on the skin, within seconds, the different peptides induce various biological functions, and the body begins releasing toxins from the tissues and organs and pushing them into the stomach — which is what causes the need to purge via vomitting. It’s all a perfect marriage to support a detox on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

And this Frog has no natural predators, so there is no survival function for this secretion!

And side note – by emotional, spiritual levels — in my episode on Aya that I released earlier this year, I shared how I was shown that, although I had healed certain traumas in my neurology, the memory and energy of those experiences was stored in the tissues of my body. This is what mother Aya showed me AND told me, and I later went to explore more about this hrough the lens of science. In the first part of 3 prior to even debriefing my actual Aya experience, I shared a quite detailed debrief on my scientific findings. I’ll link all of those up for you in the show notes! And Kambo does this as well!

So KAMBO – It detoxifies the liver and intestines, improves mental function, and can help to reset cellular memory, among many other things,

It is used to help with Conditions of the brain: Depression, Anxiety, MS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, — Chronic pain: Migraines, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, High blood pressure, Poor circulation, Cancer, HIV, Diabetes, Serious infections and fungal conditions, Recurring infections, Fertility problems, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, cleans out parasites, pathogens, Thyroid conditions, Asthma, Allergies, and Drug and alcohol detoxification

ALL that being said, Kambo is not for everyone there are certain health conditions, medications, circumstances., etc. that would make it unsafe to receive Kambo, so if you are considering it, definitely talk to your Doctor and Kambo facilitator.

Now, when I initially shared about this in Instagram, I had a lot of people in my DM’s asking if it was like Ayahuasca…

They are very different, though there are a few similarities which may be the cause of this question.

They both come from indigenous medicine practices.

They both can help move energy and initiate a purge in the body to support in healing various physical, emotional, spiritual ailments.

All that being said, Kambo is NOT a psychedelic and is legal in the US and many other places, whereas Aya is not.

Kambo is a body only experience, so when you purge you don’t have a direct line to spirit who is telling you what you’ve released, which can happen and did happen for me with Ayahuasca.

Actually, many people do a Kambo prior to Aya to better prepare themselves, specifically physically via purging, for an Ayahuasca ceremony.

Kambo lasts 10-30 minutes, beginning the moment it’s placed on your skin, and stopping the moment it’s removed, with some time thereafter where your body rests and resets.

With Aya, you drink it – shot glass size amount – and it takes about 40-60 minutes to begin feeling the effects and lasts 6-8 hours depending on if you get a second cup.

With that, Aya is something that truly pulls you into the spirit world, so if you do Aya, you really want to work with a Shaman who is very experienced in the medicine, and preferably, someone who comes well-recommended.

I have several Aya episodes that I released in January of 2020, so I’ll link them up in the show notes if you want to learn more!

With Kambo, you can find trained facilitators, who serve ethically and safely collected Kambo, all over the US through https://iakp.org/ — The International association of kambo practitioners — on their site it states their organization, “encourages the safe, responsible, ethical and sustainable use of Kambo and aims to give back to the forest and indigenous peoples of the Amazon that so generously share their knowledge with us.”

Now this is important, — these frogs are harmed in this process!!! I love all animals, especially frogs. I had a pet frog in 2nd grade that I named Froggy, and to our surprise, it outlived my dog by many years, and passed when it was over 20 years old. I would not participate in this if that was the case. And honestly, no one has more respect and reverence for all living things than these tribes. In fact, they believe if the frog is harmed, it angers the animal spirit.

So, again these frogs are not harmed. They are not afraid of humans, allow themselves to be picked up, they are covered in the Kambo secretion that easily rubs off,  and they’ll come back again and again.

HOW WAS IT DISCOVERED? THE LEGEND…

The legend goes that a shaman from a tribe in Brazil was trying everything to heal his village that had fallen ill. To find answers, he sat in ceremony with Ayahuasca. It was then that he was presented with the knowledge of this sacred frog and the exact instructions. He did as he was shown and his village was cured.

Traditionally, tribes used Kambo in 3 ways:

1) “Hunting Magic” – The village hunters would often use Kambo before going out to hunt. It helped to increase their energy and focus, enhances senses and stamina, heighten their eyesight, hearing, and strength, and apparently remove their scent, which allowed for a more successful hunt. And this was not done in sacred ceremony. Some speculate that it is because they were already so deeply connected to the earth and to spirit

2) Medicine – to treat Malaria, snake bites, fever, and various infections.

3) Warding off bad luck – they call it “Panema,” or dark/negative energy – The Kambo would clear this, allowing life to flow more naturally. There are stories of Kambo being used for fertility, sexual attraction, and good fortune.

What the FACILITATION looks like + my EXPERIENCE including how this ceremony was a crazy cool, and totally divinely guided manifestion…

I was in Sedona for my spiritual girls trip with Lauren Eliz Love @iambusinessbabe, Kathrin Zenkina @manifestationbabe, Stephanie Bellinger @thespiritualbossbabe, @Stephanie Burgos @healthyERdoc, and Ashley Gordon @manifestwithash.

The way this all manifested is just wild. 3 vignettes.
