Jen Casey (JC): Oh my gosh you guys, I’m so friggin’ excited. I’m here with Kathrin Zenkina from Manifestation Babe. I know you guys love her. You follow her. She puts out such amazing content. If you’re not familiar with her, she is a master mindset coach, success strategist and author of the amazing book Unleash Your Inner Money Babe: Uplevel Your Money Mindset and Manifest a Thousand Dollars in 21 Days. Can you share a bit of your backstory with us?
Kathrin Zenkina (KZ): Sure! So, when I was in high school, I was very pushed into science. My mom wanted me to be a doctor enough that I was going to school to become a surgeon. Even plastic surgeons make more money. I was just ready for that whole scientific medical school life.
Deep down inside, ever since I was a kid, I knew that I would be known for something.
I knew that thing would never be my looks.
I had a best friend at the time who would like to model. She wanted to be a model, and I had a lot of friends like that because I grew up in L.A. Everyone wants to be a model. Everyone wants to be famous. And I was like, “No, I’m going to be famous for something that involves the mind.” Like, I’m going to discover a new technique, I’m gonna find the cure for cancer… something big is going to happen. Little did I know, I’m not scientific at all anymore. But, when I was in 11th grade, my friend handed me a book called The Secret.
Most people watch the movie when they first come across it. I didn’t know this movie existed. I got it as a book. But I love books, and at first I was kind of like, “what is this thing?” My friend told me and I remember to this day; this is the quote that got me intrigued. She said, “This is how money works for my grandpa, my grandpa doesn’t work for money.” And I was like, sign me up. I remember taking it home and reading it that night. Two days before, I took a test that I knew I didn’t do so well on. I knew my mom would be pissed and a fight would ensue, because I had to be a straight-A student.
And I was just like, “Oh my God, wait a second… I can have whatever I want.”
I want an A on that test. I’m going to manifest it.
And… it freaking worked!
My class was small; I lived in a small town at the time. So, my teacher would call the parents of every single student who got above 90% percent on the exam. And I kept envisioning – ask, believe, receive – that I would get an A on the test. I’m going to hear the phone ringing, and then hear my mom pick up the phone with the teacher on the other end. The teacher will say, “Kathrin got an A on her test!” I got so excited. And I shit you not: that’s exactly what happened. So that day, I was hooked.
I didn’t know what magic I had just discovered, but that I was going to apply this to everything in my life.
That was my whole discovery of the law of attraction. I went down the rabbit hole, but it didn’t quite stick at first. I think I was just young and my friends weren’t into it (no one’s really into at that age), so I thought maybe I was stupid for believing in this. Other people’s opinions rub off on you, and so that’s why I always say to be careful who you surround yourself with. I didn’t surround myself with the best people.
It wasn’t until college when I came across Beachbody and that was my very first business; my very first MLM. And as you all know, MLMs are all about personal growth or personal development. You alot 10 minutes a day to mindset.
I was obsessed.
I spent way more time reading personal development books; maybe like 8 hours a day. I don’t know how I found an extra 8 hours a day as a full time college student, but somehow I did. During my commute to and from school, while doing the dishes, while getting ready for school in the morning, before bed… I found the time.
I was spending more time on PD than I was the whole fitness aspect. But, I thought that was going to be my thing. I got so hooked in Beachbody and growing the online business with social media. The fact that there are no limits, there is no income cap. I had never heard of that before. I was prepared to make $500K as a plastic surgeon. But, I never envisioned above that. I was like, “Wait a second…. there’s more money than that? That exists in the world?” This is so cool.
I’m not ashamed to say money is something that motivates me.
But, then again, the education that I have around money now is different. I know that being motivated by money is not a bad thing. Everyone has their own motivator. But, when I realized that there is no limit… I knew I could get paid to help people. I can live the lifestyle that I want. Amazing.
Then came a time where I just realized that school wasn’t necessarily the path for me.
I was not really interested in what my professors were talking about. I realized I would much rather build my business.
So, during class, instead of studying and listening to the professor… I was on Facebook on my computer, selling the product, and just absolutely loving it. I had my headphones in while listening to Amy Porterfield and Chalene Johnson’s podcasts. I was just obsessed.
Eventually, I realized something as my team was growing. If you’ve ever been in an MLM, you’ve got to motivate your team and you got to commit your team. So, I was coaching the team about the law of attraction. I taught them to have a vision board and to know what goals they’re going for. I would tell them, “You can have it! There are no limits!” I was a professional pep talker.
Then came a time where I started losing motivation for Beachbody. I felt very undervalued and very underpaid. I came across a couple coaches in the online world who were motivating people and teaching on Law of Attraction. They were coaching on mindset and all the metaphysical things that I’ve been studying since I was 16; something that I already teach. They were ONLY doing that, and they were getting paid for it. They were so inspirational and so motivational.
“I can do just the mindset stuff and none of the fitness stuff?!?”
All of a sudden, that is where I decided to create my own course. I wanted to branch off right away and I wanted to have my own thing. I remember opening my laptop and creating my very first course called “Unleash Your Inner Manifestation Babe.” I don’t know where the name came from, but it just came to me and I built the thing. I kid you not: somehow I pumped out 80 slides in 20 minutes.
JC: WOW.
KZ: I just had so much information and was so excited about it. I remember the next day, I recorded it. I went on GoDaddy and purchased the domain name. I figured out (through a lot of Googling) how to put the course up, how to password protect it. I knew a lot of the basics from Chalene Johnson’s course already.
From then on, it became my new thing.
Beachbody really wasn’t serving me anymore, and I realized that it was effortless for me. The energy that Manifestation Babe took for me to pump out a course was like nothing. It took me like 5-10 minutes, and people were just so excited over it. So, I made the switch. A year and a half later, here we are today.
JC: That’s amazing. It’s so crazy too, because my story is almost like that. Almost identical. And I told you the other day that like a couple of weeks ago, something happened with my iPhotos and it was showing me things from over a year ago. I had apparently taken a screenshot because I liked your branding of Manifestation Babe at some Beachbody trip. I just was looking through hashtags or something like that.
I just randomly took the screenshot of your stuff, being so creepy. I think you had like 900 followers at the time, and now you’ve got like multiple thousand. But yeah, I was just so into the law of attraction. I just felt like, “Why can’t I get paid to make business training videos?” Everyone told me I couldn’t do it, but I wanted to find a way.
KZ: Yeah! It’s the mindset.
We think the stuff that comes easy to us is not what we’re supposed to be making money with.
I don’t know where this idea comes from, but that’s a societal norm. Normally, you’re supposed to hate your job. So, if you’re not doing what you hate and making money with it, then you’re doing life wrong. Not at all!!! Once you get over that hump, once you start to surround yourself with other people who are making an income with their passion, you see what’s really possible and your entire life just takes off. A lot of people don’t even get to the point to where they see the takeoff.
I believe that your channel of abundance lies within your innate gifts.
It’s amazing how many people are afraid to explore it and they’re just stuck. They’re just stuck hating their jobs or they start believing that they cannot build a business with their passion. It’s just so sad that all it is is a mindset.
Once I started thinking differently, my life has not been the same since.
JC: I love that you said that, because I think to a lot of people they take for granted their own expertise in the things that come naturally to them. They just believe that everybody is good at the same thing. No, not really. People actually pay me money to do this. People will literally pay you a premium to do exactly what you love doing. It’s surprising for some people. But, I love seeing the light bulb go off for people, because that’s the moment that everything opens up and changes.
KZ: I was creating a copywriting masterclass, just based on what I know and how I write my sales pages. Over the last couple of months, I’ve literally had people threaten me and beg for me to reveal my copywriter to them. I’m just like, “It’s me.” It comes so easily to me, and I don’t even think that I’m doing anything special. But apparently, people just love my copy on my sales pages! So I created a masterclass for it, but as I was writing it, I was like, “This is so obvious. Everyone knows this. Why would someone listen to this masterclass?”
That’s the “Experts’ Curse.”
You know something so well that you think everyone else does, too.
But, it’s the opposite.
There are so many people who would kill for the information that you know.
You can make a significant amount of money, a 6-7 figure business off of the knowledge that you already have off of your gifts. It’s amazing. It’s absolutely amazing.
JC: Amen. So I was asking some of my tribe members about their biggest struggles when it comes to manifestation. I feel like a good place to start is with those limiting beliefs. But even before we go there, let’s establish the “ground rules” about the concept of manifestation because this might be new for some people. You can expand on this, but essentially….
Everything in your life and in your existence right now is a mirror reflection of the vibration that you have held up until this moment. You can change it at any time.
Are there any other ground rules that you want to add to that?
KZ: It’s just “like attracts like.” Everything in your reality was once an idea or a thought, and those thoughts all hold a vibration. By you holding onto that vibration, by law of attraction you’re going to attract things, experiences, people, events, circumstances… whatever it is into your life based on that vibration.
If you’re constantly complaining and thinking negative thoughts; saying things like, “I can’t have that,” and “Life sucks. Life is unfair.”… you will attract those negative, matching energetic circumstances into your life. That’s not to say life is always perfect, even those who are expert at manifesting have shit go wrong from time to time. Life is not perfect. There are obstacles all the time, but it’s just understanding that you hold onto the positive mind. That, even above the challenges, you allow your vision to be bigger than your bullshit and focus on the reward. Focus on the bright side of things. Focus on gratitude and just being happy regardless.
The things that you’re grateful for are grateful for you.
You can always attract more of the same positive things in your life; people, opportunities, etc. You really can change in an instant. A lot of people think that it’s going to take months and months and months and months of work. And actually, in terms of limiting beliefs, something that I’ve found in my industry is a lot of people are so obsessed with focusing on their limiting beliefs.
JC: YES! I saw you made a post about this, and I was like, THANK YOU. The notion of “I have to uncover my limiting beliefs…”
KZ: Yes! And there’s quizzes you can take to figure out your biggest blocks and your biggest limiting beliefs… Well, no shit, your limiting beliefs will forever stay with you because you’re consciously focusing on uncovering them. If you even just for a second pretend that you have none, that is going to serve you so much better than trying to discover them. As soon as you start digging for it, wait a second: all you’re doing is focusing on them!
That’s another thing about the law of attraction: what you focus on expands.
A lot of people go down that negative spiral of a rabbit hole. They think they’re doing personal development, but they’re really just focusing on attracting more limiting beliefs instead of what’s going good. You already know what’s going well in your life. If you focus more on the negatives then you’re going to have more and more of these blocks and limiting beliefs. So that drives me a little bit insane. But besides that, that’s basically the law of attraction.
JC: OK. So, for somebody who is brand new to this, how do you explain or coach someone through the process of taking responsibility for creating their own reality? Owning that power without having guilt or shame around what you’ve created?
KZ: Yes. So I can only speak for my own experience, and how I understand the shitty things that have happened in my life. How I did, in fact, manifest them or how I can take responsibility for them. It’s not that I attracted the negative event, it’s that I attracted the positive result after a negative event. Without that negative event, you would not have that important lesson in your life.
Sometimes, things go haywire in order to give us exactly what we want.
It’s called the rearrangement of the universe, or creating space. For instance, you’re trying to manifest a brand new car, but your garage only holds one car at a time. You have your old cars sitting in the garage, so how the hell is a new car going to get in there? You create space for it, right?
Or, in general, if you want to manifest. If you’re holding onto a lot of resentment, guilt, or shame, forgiveness will help you clear up space for more positivity to come into your life. So in terms of negative events, for instance, how can a 3 year old child old manifest sexual abuse or physical abuse itself? It’s not that they manifest that, it’s just that they needed that to happen in order for them to manifest a positive result.
What most people would do is, when something negative happens to them, they hold on to that past. They allow it to disempower them rather than empower them.
Honestly, there is no perfect human that exists on this planet. Everyone had shit happened to them, but it’s always serving you for your highest good. You just have to take it and allow it to empower you. That outcome of empowerment is something that you would be manifesting, if that makes sense. That’s how I understand it, and it gave me a lot of peace in my life.
JC: Beautifully said. The intention and focus was just to say “I want to have a higher level of more abundant and existence.” So the universe says, okay, let me get you there in the fastest possible way. Not necessarily the easiest way, but the shortest amount of time. People may think, “Why did this person get cancer?” or “Why did this happen? When did that happen?” Well, when they lived through it, they have a breakthrough on a whole different level. That was, in some weird way, the path of least resistance.
KZ: Yeah. And we cannot judge what the universe is doing. We can’t put our idea of what is good versus bad of what’s going on.
I am of the belief that everything is always going towards being greater; everything’s always happening for the highest good.
I also am of the belief that we choose our lives before we come on this planet. We choose how we’re going to die. Sometimes death can teach lessons. Sometimes our death has a greater purpose. For instance, when people have a hard time processing, like, terrorist attacks or car accidents or all these horrible events, it’s not that the events are not horrible. It’s just that you cannot judge. How do you know that they didn’t choose to die that way, in order to teach a very important lesson? Like, perhaps we need higher security in airports. Perhaps we need higher security in Las Vegas. All those things will go towards the greater good. We cannot be the judges of what’s good versus what’s bad. And that also gave me a lot of peace in my life around unexpected deaths. Cancer, diseases, all of the things. Anyone can argue with me (and I’ve had people argue with me) and I have had people say, “Oh, how can you be so nonchalant about death?” But, as an empath, I would just be suffering every damn day in my life.
I choose not to suffer.
I choose to hold myself in high vibration, so that I can help people. If I’m just crying in the bedroom all day long because of all these horrible things happening in the world, I would be of no use to this planet. So, that’s just what gave me a lot of peace in my life. And that’s what I teach. I hope to help people understand that it’s not as bad as it seems.
JC: Yeah I always came into it with the idea that really, it’s your perception of the event that’s really coloring it with some emotion. Good, bad, whatever. So, if you can sidestep that emotion and reframe it, and look at it toward the higher purpose, this is in some way guiding you towards what you actually want. There’s a lot of peace behind that; just surrendering and trusting.
KZ: Mmhmm. Always trust.
JC: Always trust. So, this is a good segue. A lot of people will be really trying to manifest money, and I keep thinking about it, but it’s not here yet. What’s wrong with me? Why isn’t it here?
KZ: Yeah. I always say, “You’re trying way too hard.”
Nothing comes out of trying way too hard.
The Law of Attraction: just like it takes no resistance for a pen to fall with the law of gravity, it takes zero resistance for something to manifest in your life with Law of Attraction. But, by you trying so hard and forcing things, you actually build up a wall between that thing. If you’re focusing way too hard on this ten foot yacht that you’re trying so hard to manifest, you’re actually building a wall between you and the yacht. There’s a difference with a positive mindset of, “Wow, wouldn’t it be nice to have a ten foot yacht? That sounds so exciting. That sounds so much fun. What would a version of myself who already has a ten foot yacht do? She started a business, would she be dressed a certain way, would she hang out with certain people, would she read certain books….?” You can just go on and on and on and on and on and you can embody the version of yourself who already has that thing.
When you embody that version of the person that already has that thing, you hold yourself at a much higher vibration and the universe will bring it. Sometimes not instantly, but have patience. Patience will bring the circumstances that you need in order to attract that 10 foot yacht. You’re at that vibration of a ten foot yacht. Perhaps you have this idea to start a business today that allows you to afford that kind of lifestyle by next year or even five years.
You have to trust the journey, and you have to understand the law of attraction.
Manifesting is not a forceful process.
The less resistance you can put into the system, the much better off you are. And if you ever find yourself trying too hard, get really busy.
My manifesting process is as simple as me opening a journal and just writing down, “I already have ____. I am doing ___.” or whatever it is. Then I closed my journal and I go on with my day. People think that I have this eight hour ritual and I’m like meditating on my intentions with candles.
No. I’m a normal human being with shit to do.
I just trust that whatever I wrote down, whatever I want is what I’m going to get. Then I keep myself busy.
Because, by me focusing consciously on this thing that I don’t yet have, I am just manifesting (by law of attraction) of not having it yet. I am manifesting the lack of it.
So, if you’re having a really hard time one day, just go watch a movie, hang with a friend, go shopping, go do something where you’re not thinking about what you want.
JC: I love that you’re like, “I sit down, I write out a few things, and I go on with my life.” Like, listen, I love a good crystal, some cool oils, a nice bath. To each his own, but I’m just like, that’s a lot. It doesn’t have to be that extravagant. You don’t need to buy all of these things. If you want them and you feel like they bring you closer to it, great. But you don’t need all of that. It’s just simply adjusting your vibration.
KZ: And it’s so funny, because we’ve been manifesting from the minute we were born up until now. So, why do you think that, if you didn’t need them up until this point, why do you think all of a sudden you need all these things to keep manifesting? Once you become aware of it, you think you need this complexity and you think that you need all these things. Honestly, the way I see it is: if it really helps you detach and let go and be in a very positive space by using a crystal, then in your life you will need that crystal in order to manifest. For some people, it is tarot cards or candles or a special ritual around manifesting. I have certain rituals and stuff, but that’s because it makes it so much fun for me. Once it stops being fun, I stop doing it. But if it just keeps me on a high vibration, I’ll keep doing it. But yeah, it’s really really really simple. You don’t need any complexity. It’s just being intentional of what you’re manifesting. Understanding that you are manifesting something that you actually want versus something random. A lot of people – until they open themselves up to the awareness of the law of attraction – they have pretty much been manifesting randomness. But, once you learn, just be intentional with it and go about your day and that’s all you need.
JC: Boom. Now especially for entrepreneurs, I would love to hear some of your best practices or tips around becoming intentional about your beliefs. It may be just the simplest answer, but a lot of entrepreneurs go through the roller coaster of, like, inconsistent sales. And, instead of trusting and surrendering and saying, “OK this is happening because this is the moment of growth.”, they just think it’s not working and everything’s crumbling.
KZ: I always say,
Allow your vision to be bigger than your bullshit.
You will have bad days. You never know what the universe is doing and the universe always does things that you don’t understand which will come through as a client falling through or a deal falling through. But the answer is just that whatever happened was not meant for your highest good. It’s going to get ten times better. Just chill out, and next week you’ll see.
So in those moments and in those times, I have a consistency that I do have in my life and that is mind food. I make sure that every single day I’m feeding myself with some sort of positivity. An audio book, a podcast, Tony Robbins on YouTube, or an actual event. I’m always going to events; as many as I can handle. I’m constantly surrounded by other people who are successful. Because if I don’t, then I fall into the trap of mediocrity and mediocrity doesn’t work. I never want to be like that.
By being in the energy with successful people, I’m always keeping my vibration high.
So, even if I’m having a bad day, I know and I’m constantly seeing proof and examples that bad days do not last and success is on the other side. The only way to not get success in business is by giving up.
JC: That’s a Tweetable moment, guys. It’s so true. So, let’s chat a little bit about money, because I know that’s a big thing especially for the entrepreneurs. People will say, “I manifest other things really easily. But when I go to manifest money, I’m hitting a wall. Why isn’t it coming in?” So what is the first step for somebody who has never manifested money?
KZ: Yeah. So, the thing about money is that it’s just societal conditioning.
We’re just taught that money is hard to come by. Money is the root of all evil. And for a lot of us, we’ve heard so many negative things about rich people. Rich people are greedy. If you have money then that means you have no life or you have no family because you’re always working all the time.
All these crazy beliefs. What ends up happening is, because we hear that our entire lives especially in childhood (we are a walking subconscious mind from ages 0-7) so we take in everything as truth. Everything we heard from 0 to 7 is part of our DNA now. And it takes some work and some conscious effort to get that out and to reframe with something more positive.
But you’re so ingrained with this negative messaging around money, what happens?
Consciously, we want money. Consciously, we need money. Consciously, we don’t want to be broke and we want to live in a big house have the kind of Carlen we want. Patient all the time. You know where where the kind of clothes that we want.
But… subconsciously what happens is that, once we’re very close to obtaining the money or once we have seen the money, our subconscious mind reminds us not to be greedy. You’re going to be seen as greedy if you have this money. So, that’s the issue with money and that’s why so many people struggle with money. But it doesn’t have to be that way! Those are just things that you kept hearing over and over and over again. So how you switch it is by reframing it. And that’s what I love to do. I just love to take any belief around money and reframe it.
I also could manifest everything but money up until last year.
Last year was the very first time in my life when I realized, maybe just how law of gravity applies to the pen, the Law of Attraction applies to travel and money.
I realized that we put money on such a pedestal. What if it doesn’t have to be?
What if I can go back and apply the same basics to money as I do with everything else?
I was always good at visualizing travel. I was working in a movie theater and it only paid like a hundred dollars a week. That obviously is not enough to go to Italy and France and Dubai and Thailand and all these places. I just was really good at manifesting really, really good deals. I don’t know how, but I was really good at manifesting like, five star hotels that cost a thousand dollars a night, I would get for 50 bucks a night. Flights that are thousands of dollars? I’d manifest for a couple hundred. I don’t how I did it.
I remember every single bus ride to get to my university.
I remember putting in music for whatever I wanted to immerse myself in. It would be either Italian music if I am visualizing Italy, or it would be Caribbean music if I’m envisioning the Caribbean. I would be immersing myself in the subculture – pulling up photos, etc. I would just close my eyes and it would be like I’m there. I’m in Dubai on the beach. I am skydiving. I’m doing all these things every single day.
It wasn’t like I was asking for it. I wasn’t wishing for it.
I was already there.
I was already embodying the version of myself that already has it. I’d get off the bus and obviously go on with my day. I remember doing sets of like ten minute, twenty minute visualizations every single day. And I eventually built up to me manifesting all these trips. So I’m like, what if I can do the exact same shifts with money? And then, one day, I just did.
I realize that the reason why we have such a hard time with money is because we think different laws apply.
A lot of us are trying so hard for money. We are trying way too hard with money. We build this brick wall between us and money, and we should just go back to the basics.
Ask yourself, “What do I want? How much do I want it? Why do I want it? A version of myself who already has the 10k months or the 20k months… what would be her habits?”
Just think about it as if you’re already living it and start acting “as if.”
You don’t want to just ask yourself and figure out a plan and then not do anything. You definitely want to take action.
I remember studying a lot of successful people and having my “enough is enough” moment. I was $25K in debt and I was so pissed off about being broke. What are the successful people doing?
A lot of people are saying the phrase of death, which is:
“I already know that.”
I remember telling myself to shut the fuck up and just pay attention and listen. Just study them, because there is a common trend of things that they think, things that they believe, how they act, what they listen to, where they’re hanging out.
There are all these common trends. I remember just studying them and realizing that they just see money as energy. They are listening to wealth consciousness books. They are waking up a little bit earlier. They are not wasting their time. They’re not scrolling on social media. They’re not spending time stalking other people online. They’re not doing all these things. They’re literally very focused.
They know what they want and they are going after it.
And, they just believe that the whole universe is behind them.
So I started acting as if that’s exactly what my life was like, with the universe behind me. I got this. My vision is bigger than the bullshit. Over time, the money just started pouring in. The customers, the clients, the opportunities. It all just kept coming and coming.
Eventually I would look at what I wrote down that I wanted to manifest financially. A $10K month. That’s exactly what I got this month.
Then I remember increasing it to a $20K month. I thought, “OK, so what would the version myself at a 20K month do?” I’d go online raise my prices. I’d probably post a little bit more and advertise my services. I will pay the advertising price to post. I should probably go to this event. That is all it takes.
But also: not neglecting your money.
A lot of us don’t even realize how afraid we are of checking our bank accounts. We don’t realize how afraid we are to know exactly how much in debt we are verses how much we make. I always say, “Know your numbers.” because what you track increases. So if you want to be wealthy, you want to make sure you know exactly where you are right now and start tracking it. Track it every single day, and watch as those numbers increase as you build the relationship between you and money. Because money is just energy, and relationships are just energy.
If you start seeing your money as a relationship and you start checking in on it, you start respecting it.
You start sending it love. You’re not having this love/hate relationship with it. A lot of people have a love/hate relationship with money. One day they love it, but when they don’t have it, they hate it. And then when it comes back, they love it again. And so on. I’m like, that would be really irritating if every time I left to work or left to go somewhere, my boyfriend would get really pissed off and hate me. But that’s what we do with money! There’s an ebb and flow with money, so practice loving it all the time. You have to practice checking in on it and respecting it; not spending it on random shit. And hoarding money is like putting and keeping someone locked in your house all of the time. So don’t hoard your money either. Allow it to roam free. Allow yourself to spend it. Donate it or give it away.
Show yourself and show money that you are funded and you trust that it will come back.
It will start treating you differently.
Money is just a resource. And so is oxygen.
I breathe in, and I breathe out. I’m not taking away oxygen from someone else; there’s plenty to go around. I can trust that once I breathe out, I can take another deep breath. And it’s always going to be here. It’s always overflowing. Life is good. I just need to relax.
A lot of us just need to relax when it comes to money, and realize that it is abundant and it is there. You just have to start tapping into it.
We do that through gratitude. We do that through taking action. We do that through respecting it.
JC: Amen. It’s so crazy too, because we literally print money. For anyone to think that it’s not abundant… we print money on paper. It’s great. It’s not real, it’s just energy.
Someone asked in my Facebook group, “If I can’t visualize something, can I still manifest it?”
I think that really comes into what you were saying; that you’re taking your manifestation to a whole other level of really evoking all of the senses. If you want to go to Italy, you were listening to Italian music. That’s when it gets fun! When you start really playing with your manifestation of embracing it and giving gratitude for something that hasn’t even come into reality.
KZ: Yeah. And it’s funny, because it wasn’t until my NLP training that I learned that we all have different styles of the way that we visualize. We’re not all visual; a lot of people are just auditory. Some of you have to hear the sound. Some of you need to smell. Some people even visualize through tasting. But, you know the feeling of having it; it’s a really gratifying feeling of “I finally did it!” We all have felt those feelings, just tapping into that feeling is your own style of visualization.
JC: Exactly. I love that you brought up the NLP stuff, because I was recently studying around that; how we experience different things through different modalities.
KZ: Yes, and speaking of NLP, I just wanted a mention another thing. At any given point in time, surrounding us are 2.3 million bits of information per second. And, if you don’t have any kind of filters filtering through all the information, it would be impossible for us to even focus on anything. At the same time that I’m talking, I’m also hearing you. I also feel my phone and I’m watching the comments over here light up in front of me. Focusing on all of that information at once would just drive me nuts. So, what our brain does is it filters down. It takes 2.3 million bits of information & condenses into 126 bits per second. That’s all we can process at a time. How it chooses what stays in our reality – and how we actually perceive reality – is that 126 bits that you’re paying attention to and focusing on. It is determined by the filters in your mind and that can compromise your beliefs, history, or values.
Everything has a different meaning to everyone based on these filters in our minds. And when all this 2.3 million bits per second comes into your mind, and it’s either deleted, distorted, or generalized. And so that’s all that reality is. It’s that distortion or deletion or generalization of information based on your filters. If your belief system is that money is hard to come by, then that is the filter you’ll see it through. Manifesting is all about changing those filters, & about being intentional.
So, if you make the decision that you’re really bad with money or that you can’t make money, ask yourself: When did I decide that?
What you can do is you can go back along your timeline – into the time when you first decided to believe that limiting belief in a thing. For a lot of your limiting beliefs, you don’t even know what happened. You don’t know when it happened, you don’t know why it happened, and you might not even remember the event. If you’re looking down, you just see a black hole. The thing is that what people do with their lives, they go “conscious mind” on it. The conscious mind is useless when it comes to time technique. You want to work with your subconscious, because your subconscious knows what happened.
Once I learned that you don’t necessarily need to know what happened, when it happened, what the belief is, why you’re holding onto it… you don’t need all those details. NLP is very content free therapy. You can work with a client and not even know what is going on and help them.
It dawned on me:
Why are people so concerned with the past and limiting beliefs?
Why can’t we just move forward?
Why can’t we just forgive the past, move forward and focus on the things that we do want?
I know I have limiting beliefs, but I also choose to believe that I don’t have limiting beliefs. Therefore, that’s why I’m always moving forward and nothing is holding me back.
JC: BOOM. Oh my God, that was amazing. Maybe some people don’t know what NLP is. I had been learning about it for a while (I have a degree in psychology), but then actually going to a Tony Robbins event and being in a room of 14K people who are just all in-sync, the energy was on another level. The transformation that I had and that my boyfriend had… my whole life is changed. But also, my whole perception of coaching and psychology just was flipped upside down. Like, I had to change everything because I was just awakened to this whole other level. So when did you first learn about NLP, was it through Tony Robbins?
KZ: I think so. Tony did do an NLP training back in the day. I didn’t even know that he did NLP. I didn’t know what NLP was still even after going to his event. For some reason a few months later, NLP came into my mind and I was like, “I don’t know what this is.” So I Googled it and read about it. I was like, “I know what it says, but I want in on it.” So then I was Googling live trainings. I took an online certification – which online is great, but you really want to do it in person. To practice in person and actually do sessions with each other and see it in action.
So I went to a live training, and I hired the coach, who is the owner of the company, and it’s not just for NLP. It was also hypnotherapy. It was also the time techniques which I had no idea what that was. But I just thought, if I get NLP, I’m good with all the other stuff. Life and success coaching, and emotional freedom technique. Bonus certifications. Awesome. And as soon as I walked into that class, I knew my life was changed. The stuff that you learn is absolutely amazing. Master practitioner however was another 14 days that I just finished, and that was life changing. That was absolutely amazing.
The overarching lesson was that change is so much easier and so much faster than you think it is.
As humans, we find it gratifying to make it complex and make it take years. We think that we need to spend 15 years in therapy. But honestly all we need is one NLP session. That 15 years of therapy can be done just like that. It’s insane. It’s so amazing, and I highly recommend it to everyone.
JC: Truly insane. How was the hypnotherapy piece?
KZ: It was awesome. Hypnotherapy seemed crazy to me, but that’s how most people see it. It is because Hollywood makes it look like: you swing a pendulum over your head and you’re getting sleepy and then someone is going to control your mind… and I’m going to tell you all these things like, go kill this person or like whatever people are afraid of.
The thing is, hypnotherapy is just turning off the conscious mind. You’re speaking directly to a subconscious mind.
And obviously there’s an induction period. It can be done anywhere from 30 seconds to over like 15 minutes. Most people do the 15 minute route, because it’s just like a relaxation. When the body is relaxed, people slowly go into a trance.
Once they’re in trance, you start giving them suggestions and that comes in the form of positive affirmations. It’s just telling the subconscious mind: You are very confident, you are very assured in what you do. You are amazing. You’re a badass. You are a great speaker. Like, whatever your client wants to ingrain into their subconscious, or whatever they want to become an actual thinking process for them. You just tell them that while they’re in trance, and then you bring them out and that’s all that is.
It’s actually impossible to brainwash someone or tell them to, like, go jump off a cliff or some crazy stuff that people are afraid of. The subconscious mind, knowing a lot of information about how it works, knows it’s self preserving for the body and so you never do something that goes against its morals.
So, brainwashing during hypnosis is impossible. All we can do is just help you.
How I use my hypnotherapy certification now is just creating hypnosis for my membership site. For my retreat, every night I’m going to lead everyone through hypnosis to put them to bed in a really great mood. It’s just a great way to close. I decided to close all my live events with the hypnosis from this day forward, because it’s just a great way to put the cap on.
Everything that you taught them, everything that they learned, everything that they’ve discovered about themselves, everything that they wanted to manifest in their intentions… All the stuff that you went through, hypnosis just puts a nice little bow on top their head, and you send them off. It’s really good stuff and it’s a lot simpler and easier than you think. Everyone can do it. Kids can do it. Like, I think that the certification just taught me what hypnosis is versus what it isn’t.
JC: Oh man, this is so good. I could talk to you for another four hours. So, let’s do an exercise.
Finish the sentence: Money is…
KZ: Money is an opportunity enhancer.
JC: Abundance is…
KZ: Abundance is already here.
JC: Life is…
KZ: Life is fucking amazing.
JC: This was so much fun. You are just brilliant. So amazing. I just love being in your energy and I’m just impressed by you. I have so much respect for you. You’re just constantly going out there, learning, going to events, just leveling up constantly. It’s just so amazing to see and so inspiring to see another person who’s just really crushing it. And you’re really leading from such a place of abundance and integrity.
KZ: Thank you so much. I really appreciate this, and I hope everyone listening enjoys this. Thank you so much.
JC: And guys, we didn’t hypnotize you or anything. What was the thing you said during your hypnosis? “Everything you heard today is happening easily and naturally for you?”
KZ: Now integrated easily and effortlessly.
JC: So good. Where can people go to hang out with you, to learn more about you and some of the things that you have out in the world?
KZ: Yes, three places! ManifestationBabe.com. That’s my hub for where I put everything, so my book, my events, my courses, my memories, everything is on there. And then where I actually like to hang out on Instagram @manifestationbabe. And then my Facebook group, Manifestation Babes. We’re over 35K members now and that’s the group where I hang out, do live broadcasts, I do fun challenges.
